Day-by-day itinerary

Day 01

Arrival Guwahati

Arrival at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station, where our representative will meet the group and assist with the transfer to the hotel.

After check-in and some time to freshen up, sightseeing can be planned depending on the arrival schedule.

Visit the famous Kamakhya Temple, one of the most revered Shakti Peethas in India and one of the most important pilgrimage sites of Assam. Depending on available time, selected Guwahati sightseeing may also be covered.

In the evening, guests may optionally enjoy a Brahmaputra River Cruise on direct payment basis. The cruise is subject to operation, weather and timing.

Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Guwahati.

Day 02

Guwahati to Tezpur

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin the journey towards Tezpur.

The drive passes through the plains and rural landscapes of Assam, offering a gradual transition towards the foothills of Arunachal Pradesh.

On arrival in Tezpur, check in to the hotel and relax. Depending on arrival time, visit selected local attractions such as Agnigarh and Chitralekha Udyan / Cole Park.

The evening can be spent at leisure before preparing for the onward mountain journey the following day. Dinner and overnight stay in Tezpur.

Day 03

Tezpur – Tipi – Dirang

After breakfast, check out and proceed towards Arunachal Pradesh. The journey gradually enters the foothills and follows the scenic Kameng Valley.

En route, visit Tipi Orchidarium / Orchid Research Centre, one of the important orchid centres of Arunachal Pradesh. The region is known for its rich orchid diversity and tropical forest surroundings.

Spend some time exploring the orchid centre and surrounding valley landscape before continuing towards Dirang. The drive becomes increasingly scenic, with mountain roads, river valleys and forested slopes.

On arrival in Dirang, check in to the hotel. Depending on available time, explore the local surroundings, Dirang Valley or the market area. Dinner and overnight stay in Dirang.

Day 04

Dirang – Sela Pass – Tawang

After breakfast, check out and proceed towards Tawang. This is one of the most scenic mountain journeys of the tour.

The route gradually climbs towards Sela Pass, one of the iconic high-altitude locations on the Tawang circuit. Visit Sela Pass and Sela Lake and enjoy the dramatic Himalayan landscape.

Continue towards Jaswant Garh War Memorial, associated with the history of the 1962 Indo-China conflict.

Later, visit Nuranang Falls / Jung Falls, subject to road access, weather and available time.

Continue towards Tawang through mountain valleys and high-altitude terrain. On arrival, check in to the hotel and relax after the journey. Dinner and overnight stay in Tawang.

Day 05

Bum La Pass – Sangetsar Lake – Tawang Monastery

After an early breakfast, proceed for the high-altitude excursion towards Bum La Pass. The excursion is subject to local permit approval, weather, road conditions, security regulations and administrative clearance.

A separate authorised local vehicle is required for the Bum La sector. The main Urbania cannot operate this restricted route.

Subject to conditions and permissions, the excursion may cover:

  • Bum La Pass
  • P.T. Tso Lake
  • Sangetsar Lake / Madhuri Lake
  • Scenic high-altitude viewpoints

After completing the excursion, return to Tawang in the afternoon.

Later visit Tawang Monastery, one of the most important Buddhist monasteries in the region and one of the key cultural highlights of Tawang.

Continue to the Giant Buddha Statue, which offers panoramic views over Tawang town and the surrounding Himalayan landscape. Depending on available time, guests may also explore the local market.

Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Tawang.

Day 06

Tawang to Bomdila

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed towards Bomdila. The journey retraces the Himalayan road through beautiful mountain scenery and changing landscapes.

Suitable photo stops may be taken along the route depending on road and weather conditions.

On arrival in Bomdila, check in to the hotel. If time permits, visit Bomdila Monastery and enjoy the peaceful surroundings and hill views.

Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay in Bomdila.

Day 07

Bomdila to Kaziranga National Park

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin the journey towards Kaziranga National Park. The route gradually descends from the hills of Arunachal Pradesh into the plains of Assam.

As the journey continues, the landscape changes from mountain valleys to tea-growing areas and fertile plains.

On arrival at Kaziranga, check in to the hotel or resort. The evening is free for relaxation. Depending on arrival time, guests may enjoy the resort surroundings or explore the nearby local area.

Dinner and overnight stay in Kaziranga.

Day 08

Kaziranga Safari – Shillong

Early in the morning, guests may opt for a Jeep Safari inside Kaziranga National Park. Safari operation is subject to park opening, Forest Department regulations, vehicle availability and weather conditions.

Kaziranga is globally known for the Greater One-Horned Rhinoceros and is also home to elephants, wild buffalo, swamp deer and diverse birdlife.

After the safari, return to the hotel for breakfast. Check out and proceed towards Shillong. The drive crosses the Assam plains before gradually entering the Khasi Hills of Meghalaya.

On arrival in Shillong, check in to the hotel. Depending on arrival time, guests may explore Police Bazaar or spend the evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 09

Cherrapunjee / Sohra excursion

After breakfast, proceed for a full-day excursion to Cherrapunjee, locally known as Sohra.

En route, visit Elephant Falls and enjoy a stop at Mawkdok Dympep Valley Viewpoint for sweeping views of the Khasi Hills.

Continue towards Sohra and explore selected attractions including:

  • Nohkalikai Falls
  • Seven Sisters Falls
  • Mawsmai Cave
  • Eco Park
  • Garden of Caves

The exact sightseeing sequence may be adjusted depending on weather, operating hours, traffic and available time.

The Cherrapunjee region is known for its dramatic cliffs, waterfalls, limestone formations and lush landscapes.

After completing the excursion, return to Shillong in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 10

Mawlynnong – Dawki – Shnongpdeng excursion

After breakfast, proceed for a full-day excursion towards Mawlynnong and Dawki.

Visit Mawlynnong Village and explore the village surroundings. Continue to the nearby Living Root Bridge and experience one of Meghalaya's unique examples of traditional bio-engineering.

Later proceed towards Dawki / Shnongpdeng and the Umngot River. Spend time along the riverside and enjoy the scenic surroundings. Guests may opt for boating on direct payment basis, subject to weather, river conditions and local operation.

Please note that the famous transparent appearance of the Umngot River is seasonal and cannot be guaranteed throughout the year.

After the excursion, return to Shillong. Dinner and overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 11

Shillong – Umiam Lake – Guwahati – Departure

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin the journey towards Guwahati.

En route, stop at the scenic Umiam Lake and enjoy the surrounding views.

Continue towards Guwahati Airport or Railway Station for the onward journey. Departure timing should be planned with sufficient buffer due to road and traffic conditions between Shillong and Guwahati.

Tour ends with memories of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya.
