Fresh snowfall near Bum La was captured in this video on 10 October 2026. The footage is from the higher reaches near Bum La, not Tawang town. Travellers should carry warm clothing and check local conditions before visiting. Bum La excursions depend on permits, weather and road conditions, and snowfall cannot be guaranteed for future travel dates.
ROAD REOPENED
Padma near Dirang
The road blockage at Padma near Dirang has been cleared as of 7 September 2026.
Traffic from Dirang towards Tawang is now moving, and the Guwahati–Tawang route is open for travel.
Travellers should still drive carefully and check weather updates, as mountain road conditions can change quickly.

An on-ground road blockage has been reported at Padma near Dirang on 4 September 2026.
Travel up to Dirang from the Guwahati side remains possible. However, onward movement from the Dirang side towards Tawang is presently affected by the blockage at Padma.
Travellers planning to proceed towards Tawang should check the latest road-opening situation before continuing their journey.
