History
The 1950 Assam–Tibet earthquake dammed this valley and drowned a stand of fir; the bleached trunks still stand in the water. The nickname comes from a 1997 Bollywood shoot.
Culture
Army-run canteen on the bank serves hot Maggi and tea — a fixture of every Tawang trip.
Photography tips
The trunks read best in side light, early or late. Reflections need a windless hour, most likely before 10 a.m.

Do Bumla first, then Sangetsar on the way down, so you spend the coldest hour of the morning in the vehicle.
