History

Named for a local Monpa woman who supplied Indian troops during the 1962 war. Also called Jang Falls, and known to older visitors from the 1997 film shot here.

Culture

A small hydro plant sits beside the fall; tea and momo stalls run through the season at the trailhead.

Photography tips

Overcast days beat sunshine. Bring a polariser and an ND filter for a half-second exposure; spray reaches the deck, so carry a cloth.

Local travel tips

Combine with Jang for lunch. The staircase is steep — take it slowly on your first day above 3,000 m.

How to reach

Signposted turn below Jang on the Sela–Tawang road; a short steep walk and staircase to the viewing deck.
