History
Named for a local Monpa woman who supplied Indian troops during the 1962 war. Also called Jang Falls, and known to older visitors from the 1997 film shot here.
Culture
A small hydro plant sits beside the fall; tea and momo stalls run through the season at the trailhead.
Photography tips
Overcast days beat sunshine. Bring a polariser and an ND filter for a half-second exposure; spray reaches the deck, so carry a cloth.
Local travel tips
Combine with a Jang halt if it fits your route. The viewing staircase can be steep and wet; take your time and follow local access instructions.
