History
A glacial lake on the Bumla road, long used as a grazing halt and now the most accessible high-altitude lake in the district.
Culture
Prayer flags ring the shoreline and the site is treated as sacred — do not enter the water or leave litter.
Photography tips
Reflections need a windless morning, which usually means being there before 8 a.m. In winter the ice patterns near the inlet are worth a macro frame.
Local travel tips
A good acclimatisation test the day before Bumla. If you feel breathless here, tell your guide before committing to 4,633 m.
